Raid Guidelines
Eternal Guild Ranks
The following raid guidelines apply to all raiding members of Eternal and must be followed at all times.
GENERAL
  • You must read up on the encounters and watch any videos that are available
  • You must have Ventrilo installed and working
  • Tanks must be defense capped (540)
  • Your gear must be fully enchanted
  • You must have all glyphs
  • You must bring and use a food buff and flask (or guardian + battle elixir). Many guild members can cook your food and make your flasks, so farm the mats and save some money.
  • Invites always start 15 minutes before the raid time

VENT
  • Don't talk during boss fights except where requested by the raid leader
  • Don't interrupt encounter explanations
  • Don't play music or game sound where it can be heard through Vent
  • Be courteous and friendly at all times

THE ESSENTIALS
Be fully repaired. Be on time (which is 15 minutes early), not in a group, and at the raid location. Have your latest spell ranks trained. Have reagents for all spells. Pets must be level 80. Have gems in all sockets. Bring extra ammo, potions, food and water.

LOOT SYSTEM
Note: Since this system is new to Eternal, it is up for discussion and modification as the guild evolves.
  • DKP, short for Dragon Kill Points, is a concept originally created by Thott of Afterlife, at a time where the only two raid targets in Everquest were two dragons, Lady Vox and Lord Nagafen. These points are awarded to each guild member as they attend a guild raid. The current DKP of each member reflects his or her priority for loot. When a member "wins" an item, they lose a DKP amount that reflects the value of that item. DKP allows for an unbiased comparison between guild members when decisions about loot are to be made based on attendance and recent items that have been awarded.
  • Eternal uses a zero-sum DKP system. Zero-sum means that DKP are distributed based on the value of items that drop. All members in a zero-sum DKP start with a score of 0. When an item is given to a raid member, she has to pay for it in DKP (going negative if necessary). These DKP spent are immediately distributed among all the raid members. Thus the amount of DKP, i.e. the sum of all members in the system, is always zero. The idea here is that inflation is impossible, since no points enter the system from the outside.
  • DKP is tracked separately by tier. Currently only Tier 7 exists.
  • Any item dropped from a WotLK boss costs 10 DKP in a 10-man raid, or 25 DKP in a 25-man raid. For every item that is purchased, all players that were present for the kill receive 1 DKP. Items that are not purchased do not award any DKP.
  • Players wishing to purchase items for a secondary spec may only do so if no players are willing to purchase the item for their primary spec. Off-spec items cost 1/3rd the normal amount, or 3 points for 10-mans and 8 points for 25-mans. Those points are then awarded to the raid at 0.3 points per player. In rare case-by-case situations, the raid leader may award items to players for free if the item would have been disenchanted.
  • 10-mans only: In situations when only one player wants the item, we will award the item to the player for free (but no one will earn any DKP for the item).
  • In rare situations, especially during difficult progression content where no kills are occuring, the raid leader may award DKP to players without removing any points.
  • Players who are not members of Eternal can accrue and spend DKP like any other Eternal member. They need to be manually added to the roster on the web site for this to take place.
  • Key to the Focusing Iris and Heroic Key to the Focusing Iris will be awarded at first to the raid leader and various other leaders in the guild. After that, these items will be purchased with DKP like any other item, because they lead to quests with epic item rewards.
  • Mounts and items such as Dragon Hide Bag and Satchel of Spoils will be rolled on by players who haven't already received it.
  • Flying mounts requiring 300 flying skill may only be rolled on by players with 300 flying skill already trained.
  • Items not purchased by any player will be disenchanted, and the resulting materials auctioned for the guild bank.
  • We will pilot this system in 10-mans and iron out any issues we see. When we start 25-mans, we will probably discontinue DKP use in 10-mans.
AFTER A BOSS KILL
  • The raid leader will link all items to raid chat
  • All players not interested in the items will immediately leave and continue clearing trash
  • The raid leader will link each item for purchase individually
  • Players will whisper the raid leader if they would like to purchase the item
  • The raid leader will award the item to the player with the highest DKP total
  • In the event of a tie, the raid leader will ask all interested players to link the item they will be replacing in a whisper. The raid leader will then act as loot council in determining which player should be allowed to purchase the item. In the event of a DKP tie for tier pieces, the player with the lowest number of tier pieces wins the piece. If the players have the same number of tier pieces, and players are all of the same class, an attempt will be made to award the item to the person who will receive the largest upgrade. If this is not possible to determine, or if multiple classes are vying for the tier piece, the piece will be rolled on by the tied players.
  • During the loot process, players are not to discuss who is vying for the pieces in Vent or chat. All communication will be done via whisper.
  • After all loot has been awarded, the raid leader will briefly log out to upload the results to the web site, which will update the in-game DKP totals as well.

DKP MANAGEMENT
  • This web site tracks raids, loot, and all DKP transactions through an in-game module.
  • Use the DKP link at the top of the web site to view players' current DKP, raid attendance, items puchased, and other stats.
  • In game, you can determine your current DKP by whispering the raid leader using the following commands:
    • /whisper Állara dkp <name>
    • /whisper Állara dkp <class>
  • After items have been distributed from each boss kill, DKP will be awarded instantly to all players who were present.
  • At the conclusion of the raid, the raid leader will log off to upload updated DKP totals, loot information, and WWS logs.
  • Alts will be tracked as one player (the main) for DKP purposes. If you bring an alt to the raid, the DKP from your main will be used.

TRIAL MEMBERS
Trial members brought to raids will be allowed to earn DKP, but will be unable to spend it.

REQUIRED ADD-ONS
  • Deadly Boss Mods - Required for everyone. You will be kicked from the raid until you install/update this.
  • Omen - Required for everyone
  • Decursive - Required for all classes capable of cleansing/dispelling
  • PallyPower - Required for paladins

Use the Curse Client to keep your add-ons up to date.

INVITES AND ATTENDANCE
Invites are through the in-game calendar system. Raid slots will be filled with members of the Raider team first. Remaining slots will be filled with other players from the guild.

METERS
Don't dump meters to chat, and don't ask for it. If you want to see a meter, get one yourself or ask the raid leader to send it to you in whisper. The Raid Leader or Class Leads may feel the need to link a meter in raid chat to show people where they're at and who is doing what they need to be doing. Don't complain, argue, or explain your position on them unless asked. WowWebStats reports will be linked from the widget on the home page after every raid. Class Leads will be analyzing them and you should too. Be aware that WWS has been slightly buggy with WotLK content so take it with a small grain of salt.
